About Us

The South East Michigan Entrepreneurs Association (SEMEA) is the #1 organization for entrepreneurs in the state of Michigan. SEMEA was established in December 2010 as a networking and support group for entrepreneurs and small business owners. SEMEA provides information, education and resources to accelerate your growth and increase your chances for success. Our monthly meetings and events give members an opportunity to network, forge new relationships and get connected! Our association is unlike any other group. We focus on providing the best networking experiences in Southeast Michigan. Come out and experience the difference!


Monthly Meetings
Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month at various locations throughout southeast Michigan. Each month members and guests are treated to a quality networking experience as well as a dynamic expert speaker providing tons of information on how to grow your business and increase profits! Come as our guest and attend your first meeting FREE (select meetings only). Light refreshments provided. (Non-member Fee varies depending on the event)


Networking Events
SEMEA holds regular networking events to give members and community leaders an opportunity to make connections and build relationships. Our annual expos and conferences are held throughout the year and are attended by hundreds of entrepreneurs and business leaders throughout Southeast Michigan. 

Workshops and Seminars
SEMEA offers affordable workshops and seminars taught by experts and geared toward helping entrepreneurs and small businesses learn new skills to become more effective business owners. 
Master Mind Groups
As a part of membership, SEMEA members have an opportunity to participate in master mind groups that meet regularly to support and affirm business and career goals.

ZaLonya Allen PhD, Executive Director
Dr. Allen is CEO of Global Diversity Staffing which specializes in office support staff and IT placements. She is an award winning speaker/author in leadership development. For 15 years Dr. Allen has presented to groups throughout the country including Ford UAW, Detroit Edison, Society for Human Resource Management and Clemson University. She has earned degrees from University of Michigan, Wayne State University and North Central University in industrial relations, sociology and two degrees in psychology. She has served in numerous leadership positions including board member for such groups as National Speakers Association of Michigan, National Association for Female Executives and North Oakland County Campfire USA.       Kevin Pappert, Certified Funding & Turnaround Expert, Prosperity Funding
Kevin has over 25 years of experience as a top-rated turnaround expert. Internationally renowned for his work, Kevin has served as a business, management and marketing sales consultant for over 500 business operations. Kevin has been accredited with saving more than 60 businesses from financial ruin. He has also provided millions of dollars for his clients in private, institutional and governmental funding. Kevin is an expert in finding money for private individuals, businesses, and governmental agencies. He believes opportunities are endless. He has also performed many sales, marketing, management, and cash-flow seminars before top business executives throughout the US & Canada. Kevin is a graduate of the University of Michigan and a recipient of the 2014 National Business Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Mark Cuban Enterprises.


Van Allen, ACP Investments, Owner
Van Allen is a real estate investor as well as an award winning motivational speaker and former talk show host. He has received numerous awards including first place in the District 28 World Championship of Public Speaking Contest for Toastmasters International. His signature presentation “Are You a Winner” encourages audiences to step out of their comfort zone to reach their true potential. He attended Henry Ford Community College and Wayne State University. He is a Master NLP Practitioner which allows him to help individuals tap into the power of the subconscious mind. He is also the owner of Van Allen Productions which specializes in videography. Van is one of the founding member of SEMEA.


Cindy McCann-Clissold, CMC Business Consulting

Cindy McCann- Clissold is currently a business consultant in private practice. Formerly a business development representative with the Michigan Business and Professional Association, a business trade association that represents over 20,000 medium to small business members throughout the State of Michigan, she was first a member and then hired to assist with membership growth, retention and to help members to grow their businesses. Cindy is a "connector" and brings a wealth of experience to SEMEA. Prior to Cindy's job with the MBPA she worked in sales with a commercial cleaning company as well as in retail management. Cindy is married and has one daughter and four grandchildren.


Milton Duerod, Motion Realty and Auction Services, Broker/Investor

Milton Duerod is currently the founder, managing real estate Broker as well as licensed Auctioneer at Motion Realty & Auction Services. Before forming Motion Realty in 2006, Milton was one of the top producing real estate agents and later an associate broker of a nationally franchised real estate brokerage. Prior to his real estate career, Milton earned a Masters of Science in Administration degree from Central Michigan University. He received a Bachelors in Computer Science from Wayne State University. He spent 30 years in IT. He worked in such capacities as computer programmer, technical educator, technical sales manager and senior IT specialist for various Fortune 500 companies including Chrysler, GM, and IBM. Olga Tecos, Owner of Artee Day Spa & La Moda Hair Salon
Olga Tecos is the founder and owner of Artee Day Spa which has received numerous awards including Best of MichBusiness Award, WDIV’s Vote 4 the Best Award and the Excellence in Business Award from the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce. Tecos is a long-time Grosse Pointe community supporter. In 1988 she opened La Moda Salon in Grosse Pointe Farms with co-owner Josephine Carducci which has over 20 stylists. Together they created a place where patrons found not only a variety of salon services, but just as importantly a place to be welcomed more as family than as customers. La Moda has often given back to the community through benefits for relief causes, as well as gifts to various local organizations, such as St. John Van Elslander Cancer Center and Gilda’s Club.

    Brandon Marsh, Vertex Solutions Group
Brandon Marsh is a Business Leadership Coach and Speaker who helps business owners achieve peak performance. He has delivered presentations for such groups as Dale Carnegie, Leadership Oakland, Abcott Institute, Walsh College, General Electric and Skyline Club. His career includes roles at several blue chip companies including Microsoft, IBM and Hewlett Packard. He holds a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a MBA in Management and Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity where he has served as chapter president. 


Colette Hughes, Virtual Real Estate Services LLC, Broker

For Colette Hughes Real Estate is not just her's her passion. She has over 20 years of experience in various areas of real estate from traditional real estate sales, short sales, bank foreclosures, tax foreclosures/auctions, helping first time home buyers, helping seasoned buyers and sellers, property management to property investments. She's currently the Broker/Owner of Virtual Real Estate Services, LLC in Sterling Heights, Michigan. She's proud to go above and beyond to help any community, family, friends, fellow real estate brokers and real estate agents with real estate services. Colette earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Detroit College of Business and has a BA in Christian Studies from Midwestern Christian Institute.

      Ray Moulden, owner of Allstate Moulden Agency earned his license to sell Business, Auto, Home, Accident, Health and Life Insurance from the State of Michigan and Federal Security License. Since becoming a part of the Allstate family he has been named as the top commercial producer in Michigan for business insurance sales in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In March 2015 Ray was chosen as the featured expert on Fox 2’s weekly Financial segment “Money Monday” as a professional advisor on the topic of cutting insurance costMoulden learned perseverance and attention to detail from his studies at Osborn High School and Wayne State University in Detroit. Ray has more than 30 years of marketing, sales, advertising and customer service experience. Previously he excelled in various sales positions for OFRA, Globe Business Resources, King Koil Mattress Company and others. Ray is involved with numerous civic and charity organizations such as Detroit Regional Chamber, Detroit Metro Visitors Bureau, Jewish Vocational Services, and serves on the Corridor Improvement Authority Board for the City of Oak Park, Michigan.
